MMI Functional Analysis
Overview
Moving Image's current collections management system (CMS) is primarily used as a cataloging and online presentation tool. The Museum has not kept pace with upgrades to the system, and therefore has not been able to take advantage of many of its collections management capabilities. In 2006, the Museum migrated to its current CMS from an Access database; artifacts from this migration are still present and will be cleaned up either prior to the migration or as part of it. The database currently contains 34,410 records describing 130,000 objects.
