Work to be considered for the release

Upgrade of Vocabularies and Authorities:

Main Drivers
  • Continue functionality improvements identified in Phase III grant proposal for Q2
  • Work with deployers on priorities for bug fixing sprint (Release 2.5)
Schema Changes

The following seven date fields were converted to structured dates (CSPACE-5128):

  • Person: Person's death date
  • Person: Person's birth date
  • Organization: Organization's founding date
  • Organization: Organization's dissolution date
  • Acquisition: Accession Date
  • Acquisition: Acquisition Date
  • Object Exit: Object Exit Date

There were extensive changes within the schemas of all six authority record types, made to accommodate new functionality around preferred and non-preferred terms. The record types affected were:

  • Concept
  • Organization
  • Person
  • Place
  • Taxon

Many top level fields were moved into a repeatable 'term group', whose enclosing fields are variably named depending on the record type (e.g. OrgTermGroupList/OrgTermGroup for Organization records, and PersonTermGroupList/PersonTermGroup for Person records). Some fields were renamed during this move, to standardize on a set of eleven (11) common fields within that group, across all record types. In addition, a small number of obsolete or now-redundant top-level fields in these records were removed.

Specific information about these schema changes will be posted or referenced here in the near future.
